What is F2 Digital Platform?

F2 combines case management, process management, and knowledge management into one fully integrated software solution including full support for specialized government routines and compliance.

F2 offers multiple front-end options and supports PC users as well as mobiles and tablets. The unique architecture, which is based on one shared database, ensures easy and efficient search, use, and re-use of data, and it allows for easy integration for other systems and interfaces based on standard interfaces.

Like a Swiss Army Knife

F2 is highly flexible. The standard software can be configured to run in any type of government organization. From the ministerial department to agencies, municipalities, and cities, while process templates can support simple as well as complex mission-critical processes, end-to-end.

By use of the administrator menu, it is easy to set up all basic functionalities. This includes organizational scheme with users, roles and access control, defining file plans, configuring work routines with deadlines, configuring templates for approvals, letters and e-mails, as well as FOIA requests.

Mission-critical processes can be defined as process templates and stored in the F2 Process Library, providing end-to-end support of government work from citizen self-service to back-office case processing and filing.

A process template is related to a case type. When a new case is opened, either by internal staff or by a citizen using self-service, a process template for the actual case type can be activated.

When activated, the process template controls and supports case processing step by step. This includes decision making, use, and production of data organized into cases and records, as well as support for organizational work based on units and user roles.

F2 is like a Swiss army knife for government digitization. A fully integrated digital platform that can be configured for any type of government organization, including support for individual processes simply by designing and adding process templates for the F2 Process Library.

Fast track next-generation digital government

Based on best practices, standard software, and the unique Process Library storing individual process templates, F2 offers government organizations a fast track transformation into digital government.

The Administrator menu offers fast and easy system setup and maintenance, and in parallel with the Process Library, F2 offers a best practice-based design methodology to help define and configure process templates.

Clearly it takes some time to define and declare a new process template, including defining self-service, with case type-specific fields and smart user interaction, as well as case processing steps, decision support with checklists, compliance routines, and access.

But configuring a standard product can be done much faster, with lower costs and risk, than traditional government IT. Thereby, F2 offers government institutions as a fast track for digitizing.

Easy upgrade to new versions

Mission-critical solutions based on custom build software are hard to maintain and further develop. In contrast, the F2 standard product is easy to upgrade to new versions.

On a regular basis, cBrain offers new versions of F2 and based on highly automated tools, it is easy and painless to upgrade for new versions. This includes an upgrade of all individual configurations, system setup, and configuration as well as process templates.

By using standard software as a base for mission-critical solutions and processes, it is now easy to maintain the software, and processes can continuously be further developed, to adapt to new requirements, simply by adjusting and further developing process templates.

This includes the support for versions of templates and variance. The F2 Process Library allows for multiple versions of a process template, thereby e.g. making it easy to prepare for regulatory changes, and it allows for testing new versions of a process template for selected cases, often called A-B testing. With variance, one process template can support different case steps and fields, driven by actual case information.

Process libraries offer solutions for reuse and fast deployment

A process template is a configuration describing a case type specific flow stored in the F2 Process Library. The template is open source and easy to reuse. Simply by copying the process template and then adjusting and re-configuring the process.

Based on work across many different types of government organizations, cBrain has built and offers a broad range of pre-configured process templates that are easy to adapt and reuse for new processes.

This includes external end-to-end citizen-facing processes, like Grants Management, Immigration, Certifications, Fraud Management, Inspection and Control, as well as internal processes, like HR and controlling.
