This page contains all user documentation for F2 version 7.
The documentation provides an overview of what has changed in F2 in the latest version. There are three types of documentation:
‘New functionality’ is a description of the new or changed functionality that the main version of F2 contains. New features, new modules and changed functionality are described with screenshots and tutorials.
‘Update supplement’ elaborates on the new or changed functionality in an intermediate version of F2 with screenshots and tutorials.
"Release notes are a complete overview of all changes including new and changed functionality as well as known, resolved bugs in the given version.
Update supplements and New functionality are used as a supplement to cBrain's user manuals for F2. The user manuals can be found on the front page of the Customer Portal.
A new major version of F2 contains more and larger changes than an intermediate version.
Major versions of F2 follow regular numbering, e.g. ‘version 7’ or ‘version 8’. Between major versions, intermediate versions are released. For example, an intermediate version can be called ‘version 7.1’ or ‘version 7.3’.
All major and intermediate versions also have a longer version number that refers to the specific version of the major or intermediate version in question. This means that a manual for version 7.3 may have the version number 7.3.0.61216. A new version number is added every time functionality is added or bugs are fixed. This is why release notes and update supplements always have the full version number on the front page.
Before version 7 (up to and including version 6.2), a major version was assigned a name that included a full stop. This means that a major version could be called ‘version 6.0’ or ‘version 6.1’, for example. The intermediate versions were called ‘rounds’. Therefore, an intermediate version could be called, for example, ‘version 6.1 R3’, i.e. version 6.1, round three.
Note: cBrain's delivery agreements typically state that cBrain must inform the customer when changes are made in a future version. This is done via the above documents. It is therefore important that relevant people in the customer's organisation are updated on new options in F2.
