Dear all,
The Ministry of Digitalization is now testing F2 with open source document editing.
The Ministry is taking a major step towards digital sovereignty with the launch of a pilot project that, with the help of cBrain's F2 platform, integrates an open source alternative, Collabora, to replace the traditional Office suite.
Minister for Digitalization, Caroline Stage, states:
"We have a political responsibility to ensure that our IT systems are not dependent on a few major corporations. This pilot project is an important and concrete first step in that direction."
The pilot project aims to assess whether Collabora within F2 can meet the Ministry's requirements for document management. The focus is on ensuring compatibility with public templates, reliable document conversion, change tracking, and support for advanced formatting. The results will play a decisive role in shaping future decisions regarding broader implementation across the Ministry.
cBrain's F2 platform is built on an open and flexible architecture that separates data from editing tools, ensuring the ability to operate across different hosting environments and system landscapes.
This means F2 users can use multiple types of editing software simultaneously. Each user can individually choose their preferred editing tool.
F2 has supported multiple types of editing tools for many years, but the integration of Collabora introduces new technical possibilities across clients and workflows.
