Release notes for version 9 are now also available on the F2 Docs website . You can also find all manuals for version 9 here .
This page contains all user documentation for F2 version 9. The documentation provides an overview of what has changed in F2 in the latest version. There are three types of documentation:
“New functionality” is a description of the new or changed features that the main version of F2 contains. New features, new modules and changed functionality are described with screenshots and instructions.
“Update Supplement” elaborates on the new or changed functionality in an intermediate version of F2 with screenshots and instructions.
"Release notes" are a complete overview of all changes, including new and changed functionality as well as known, fixed bugs in the given version.
Update Supplement and New Functionality are used as a supplement to cBrain's user manuals for F2. The user manuals can be found on the front page of the Customer Portal.
A new major version of F2 contains more and larger changes than an intermediate version.
Major versions of F2 follow the usual numbering, for example “version 8” or “version 9”. Intermediate versions are released between major versions. An intermediate version can be called “version 8.1” or “version 8.3”, for example.
All major and intermediate versions also have a longer version number that refers to the specific edition of the major or intermediate version in question. This means that a manual for version 8.3 may well have the version number 8.3.0.8625. A new version number is issued every time functionality is added or bugs are fixed. Therefore, release notes and update supplements always have the full version number on the cover.
If there are bug fixes in an intermediate version, the name will contain a “P” (patch).
Note: cBrain's delivery agreements typically state that cBrain must inform the customer when changes occur in a future version. This is done via the above documents. It is therefore important that relevant people in the customer's organization are updated about new options in F2.
