As part of Denmark’s efforts to reduce dependence on major tech giants, the Ministry of Digitalization has initiated a pilot project to test an open source alternative to Microsoft Office, Collabora, based on LibreOffice, integrated directly into the F2 case management system from cBrain.
Starting June 19, 2025, a selected group of ministry employees will trial the new solution by using Collabora instead of the Microsoft Office suite within F2. The pilot aims to evaluate whether the open source platform can meet core functional requirements such as template compatibility, document formatting, tracked changes, tables, and seamless conversion to and from Word formats.
If successful, the trial may lead to a broader rollout across the ministry. The project marks a first step toward greater digital sovereignty in the Danish public sector.
